What are we hiring for?

We are looking for an Accountant to manage our company's financial transactions and ensure compliance with legal regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial decision-making and operations, helping the company optimize its financial performance and strategic development. Experience with U.S. accounting practices or U.S. companies will be considered an advantage. Given the nature of the position, the person needs to work a few times in our hub.


What you will be doing

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze financial records, statements, and reports;

  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly documented;

  • Perform monthly and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries;

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts;

  • Support external audits and prepare necessary schedules and documentation;

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide recommendations for process improvements;

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations;

  • Assist with the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures;

  • Provide support in the preparation of tax returns and financial statements;

  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable;

  • Payroll (controlling, monitoring, reporting, and communicating with externals);

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed;

Job requirements

You aspire to join an energetic team in a fast-growing startup to build and grow products at scale. Your desired skills and experience include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;

  • Certified accountant (TOC);

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or related role;

  • Knowledge of the Portuguese Chart of Accounts (Plus for the US CoA);

  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and IFRS;

  • Knowledge of the Portuguese Tax and VAT System (Plus for the US);

  • Experience with accounts payables and receivables;

  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite is Desirable) and Google Suite;

  • Can produce reports with ease such as Cash Flow statements; P&Ls; Balance Sheets; Cost Centers; Budgeting;

  • Lisbon Metropolitan Region Resident 

  • Fluency in English.
